The Honey Witch Book Review
Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! I'm so excited to get into all the fall reads. I've seen so many people talk about this book, so let's get into it!
In The Honey Witch we follow, Marigold Claude who has always felt like an outcast in her family. She prefers the company of spirits and nature to any suitors trying to woo her. One day, her grandmother visits and says its her destiny to become the next Honey Witch and protect an isle called Innisfree. Marigold immediately accepts. However, it is the curse of the Honey Witch to remain alone forever. Marigold cannot fall in love, and must choose between love and power. As she learns from her grandmother, she realizes how she doesn't want to be alone. With her grandmother's failing health and Innisfree needing a Honey Witch more than ever, Marigold feels a responsibility to protect the isle from the wicked Ash Witch. Can she save the isle or will falling in love threaten to take her magic and the isle away?
It has been a while since I've read a book about witches and magic. This was a great break between all the deep and twisted thrillers I have been reading. A stand-alone fantasy novel that gives the perfect cozy, witchy vibes for the fall time.
This was a very easy read, short chapters, and easy to follow plot line. There weren't too many characters. I loved the friendship between August, Marigold and Lottie. The author does a great job of painting such a magical land and atmosphere. I wanted to visit Innisfree.
I thought the pacing was a little slow in the beginning, but I also loved seeing Marigold and Lottie interacting with each other. I love their relationship.
Lottie's role in things was also very interesting. I had a lot of theories about how she was involved in things, but I really liked how the ending played out.
Overall, I highly recommend checking this book out especially if you're looking for something witchy to read during spooky season. It's a very light-hearted and easy read.
Alright folks, that is all I have for this week! Come back next Wednesday for another blog post. As always thank you for reading :)
