New Moon Book Review
Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! Continuing on with our Twilight journey, I have officially finished New Moon. So, let's get into it!
In my Twilight post, I mentioned that my favorite movie of the whole series was New Moon. So, I was really hyped up to read this book. And I have to say that I really liked it!
There was so much more of Jacob and Bella which I love. And I adore how Bella describes Jacob in the books. For example, "It was Jacob himself. Jacob was simply a perpetually happy person, and he carried that happiness with him like an aura, sharing it with whoever was near him. Like an earthbound sun..." (Pg. 119). She describes him as an earthbound sun, are you kidding me?? That tugged at my heart.
Their friendship is very pure and he makes her happy; she's able to forget about her nightmares while she is with him. Granted, she is kind of using him to restore some bikes she found, but still. Jacob is a sap around her and it's just so cute. He's a really good friend to her even though she's not always the best to him. Jacob also lets Bella make her own decisions.
After watching the movie right after finishing the book, it again is a pretty close interpretation of the text. In the scene where Edward leaves Bella, the dialogue in the movie is verbatim what was written in the book.
Also, Bella is very pushy about becoming a vampire. Yes, I understand why, but she brings it up all the time. And I understand where Edward is coming from as well when he is hesitant about changing her. It grew annoying real fast that's for sure.
The chapters were pretty long, but it does make it seem like you are moving through the book faster in a way.
Overall, I would give this 3/5 stars, and I would still recommend reading the series.
Alright folks, that it all I have for today! Come back next week for another blog post! As always thank you for reading :)
