Listen for the Lie Book Review
Hello everyone, and welcome back to the blog! Today, I am back with another book review. I have really been in my thriller era recently. So, let's get into it!
Listen for the Lie follow Lucy years after her best friend, Savy's murder. While the public was quick to point the finger at her, Lucy was never charged. She can't seem to remember everything that happened the night her best friend died. Now her best friends murder is the subject of a true crime podcast, and Lucy is once again haunted by that one night. She returns to her home town in hopes of finally figuring out what happened to Savy.
This book was so good. I couldn't put it down. The podcast episodes, the characters, the structure. After every chapter I was hooked and wanting to read the next one. I loved Lucy's wit and sarcasm. She seemed like a real badass, and I loved seeing her with Savy. I think the author did a really great job of painting a picture of Savy that was clearly different from "public opinion." We saw her authentically through Lucy's pov.
The chapters were really short, and there was the occasional flash back. I like when I slowly get the pieces of the story from the past. It's an easy way to build up the tension and suspense.
I had a lot of guess as to what happened to Savy and who did it. This book defintely keeps you on your toes. Its the perfect book to get you out of a slump.
Overall, I would give this 5/5 stars. You will not be disappointed!
Alright folks that is all I have for this week! Come back next Wednesday for another blog post. As always, thank you for reading :)
