How I Imagine each Colleen Hoover Girl to Dress
Hello everyone, and welcome back to the blog! Today, I am taking a break from the book reviews to do something I haven’t done before. I want to talk about how I think each Colleen Hoover “it girl” would dress. I saw something like this on TikTok, and I thought it would be super fun to try to recreate! So, let’s get into it.
I have only read a few Colleen Hoover books up to this point, so I don’t have a lot of options on who to do. But I decided on Lowan Ashleigh, Verity, Lily Blooms, and Tate Collins! I added Verity at the last minute because as I browsed Pinterest, I saw a ton of options that would go perfectly for her.
Essentially what I did was, I browsed Pinterest for a couple of outfit, jewelry, and shoe options that I think each character would wear. I then made four separate collages for each which I will show and break down.
First up we have Verity!
Now, when I picture Verity I get more of a classy, high-end vibe. I think she would only buy herself nice expensive things. Hence the Dior and Chanel make-up. But I also think that she would pin her hair up in a claw clip to give it that messy, I’ve-been-at-home-with-the-kids-all-day-vibe…even though we know what she has really been up to….
Overall, she portrays herself as very elegant to the outside world. She’s a successful writer, has the perfect family, etc. She has to match the person the world thinks she is.
Next, is Lowan.
I imagine her as someone who dresses very respectfully, someone who appears presentable and has her life together even though she really doesn’t. To me, she would wear a lot of neutrals and has more of a business woman vibe to her. She would wear a lot of plaid skirts and tweed blazers and thick sweater vests.
Like I said, very respectfully dressed, appears classy but it’s more of a I-dress-to-make-you-think-I-know-what-I’m-doing look. And I think she would start to wear gold jewelry because of Verity.
Moving on, we have Lily.
She was a hard character to think about. I was kind of all over the place with her as far as trying to single out one specific style. But overall, I think she would be girly with a hint of earthiness and edge to her. I think she would be that girl to wear dresses and skirts with platform Converse. I imagine floral skirts, green dresses, white or black high tops, platform Converse or some kind of white sneaker . But sometimes a nice sandal instead with her hair pulled back in a bandana.
She does run her own flower shop where the girly side comes in, but it’s not just an ordinary flower shop, it’s edgy hence the edge with the Converse.
Lastly, we have Tate.
She was another character that was really hard to pin down. I thought I knew what I was thinking, but I ended up settling on a simple and minimalistic style. By simple I mean like white t-shirt and jeans with Nike sneakers. Or even for a more casual look, a crew neck, leggings, and a vest. She would be able to pull off the simple but casual look, as well as the laidback look. I think her style is the most relatable.
She also strikes me as the cute girl-next-door vibe, and I feel like minimal really plays into that stereotype.
Alright folks, that’s all I have for today! I hope you enjoyed it because I had so much fun making the collages and writing about each character’s style. Come back next week for another blog post! As always, thank you for reading :)
