Book Recommendations for Spooky Season
Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! It is time for my yearly book recommendations to get you into the spooky spirit. My favorite post to write about my favorite time of year. So, let's get into it!
Side note: I have never been one for the horror genre, but this year I have been trying to expand my horizons. I've come to the conclusion that it's really hit or miss. I've included one or two from the genre in my list, but I have to give a cliche warning.
*This list is in no particular order*
- The Last Time I Lied by Riley Sager
- Final Girls by Riley Sager
- Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney
- How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix (cliche, but interesting)
- What Lies in the Woods by Kate Alice Marshall
- House of Hollow by Krystal Sutherland (YA Fantasy)
- Death of a Bookseller by Alice Slater
- If We Were Villains by M. L. Rio
Most of the list is comprised of thrillers. There's just something about a mystery that screams spooky season to me. There is a horror book and a YA fantasy book on the list which the latter may come as a surprise. Some of these will have blog posts solely dedicated to them already up if you would like to know more. A few reviews won't be posted yet, but they are coming (specifically for the Riley Sager books)! I can tell you right now, the Riley Sager books are my top on the list. I highly recommend The Last Time I Lied.
Some of these are 5/5 stars, some 4-3 stars. There is a wide variety, and of course this is just my opinion. If you have any recommendations that aren't on the list, please let me know! I'm always looking for a good book to get me into the holiday spirit if you know what I mean.
Alright folks, that is all I have for today! Come back next Wednesday for another blog post! As always, thank you for reading:)
