Authors I Would Invite to Dinner

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! Today, I want to talk about some of the authors I would invite to dinner and why. I love questions like this because it’s just so fun to think of all the possibilities. So, let’s get into it!

To be honest, I have no idea where to start. I guess we have to set the scene. I imagine this taking place in a castle, very extravagant of course. I’m getting King Arthur at the round table vibes. A big table with all the food you can think of. There must be a little something for everyone. The room lit by candles to set the mood. Or maybe more of a fancy outdoor setting? The most aesthetic table set up, on a big hill, golden hour, candles, earthy nature vibes. You get the picture.

The first person I would invite is Sarah J. Maas. I feel this shouldn’t come as a surprise. I have so many questions I would want to ask her. What is her writing process like, how long does it take to create the first draft, where did she get the idea for any of her series, etc. I could go on and on.

The second author is going to be J.R.R. Tolkien because we can’t just have one master world building author at the table. I would love to ask what he thinks of the movie adaptations of LOTR and The Hobbit.

This is where things get hard because there are so many authors that I love. And I want the occasion to be grand but intimate.

I feel like it would be so cheesy to say William Shakespeare but part of me wants to invite him to dinner, is that lame? Think of the conversation and everything we could tell him about books from this century, and how writing and publishing has changed. Plus, he's kind of iconic.

The last person I would invite would be Emily Henry. I would love to know where her ideas come from and what it is like to blow up social media with her writing. Everyone I know loves her books. And I feel like we need to cover some different genres and writing types. Maybe that means we would all have more to talk about.

All of the authors bring different assets and skills to the table, and honestly, I would love to sit with all of these people and just talk about everything. It doesn't even have to be book related.

Anyways, that is I have for this week! Come back next Wednesday for another blog post! As always thank you for reading:)
